The Tornivoukas family is a three generation family of hoteliers. Their Northern Greece luxury hotels are located in Thessaloniki (The Excelsior and City Hotel) and in Ouranoupolis, Halkidiki (Eagles Palace). TORHOTELGROUP headquarters is located in a typical office building, downtown Thessaloniki. The design is rooted in this dual origin of the group’s hotels, the city and the sea side resort and mountain environment.

The sea, the vegetation, colours and materials found in the Greek sea and mountains, the vicinity of Eagles Palace to the Holy Mountain as well as the urbanity of the Thessaloniki hotels are all features found in design elements of the group’s office headquarters. The typology of an open typical office plan is used here for the spacious arrangement, steel and glass are referring to the dense urban environment. The religious iconographic blue found in The Holy Mountain is used in the floor and ceiling’s color. The light turquoise of the sea is the mosaic tile base colour, the most commonly used wooden structures of traditional Northern Halkidiki are related to the wall covering. A marble information desk is formed following the geometry of a fishing boat, ropes are used to define the passages that do not need a strict confinement.

The open plan space led to a spacious arrangement with the private offices along the windows for natural light, whereas areas such as the reception and lounge, the information desk as well as the meeting room are located centrally.
