CHORA, the new extension of Domes of Elounda in Crete, introduces a quieter and more private hospitality experience, shaped in close relationship with the landscape and the iconic views towards Spinalonga. The development consists of seventeen independent guest units and a communal restaurant area with an outdoor pool, forming an environment that balances a sense of retreat with a shared social experience.

The architectural composition unfolds through a series of single-storey, stone-built volumes that blend organically into the natural terrain, creating a network of patios, planted paths, private plunge pools and outdoor living spaces. Drawing references from the traditional Cretan house, the guest units establish a natural dialogue between interior and exterior space, with an emphasis on comfort, fluidity and privacy.

Materiality is expressed through dark wood, beige and red travertino tones, off-white fabrics and patterned surfaces that subtly evoke Cretan folk heritage through a contemporary and refined lens. At the communal core, the restaurant, bar and reception areas extend naturally towards the terrace, the pool and the olive grove, shaping a unified spatial experience framed by the Cretan landscape.

Overall, the proposal seeks to articulate a hospitality experience in which luxury is expressed through naturalness, atmosphere and a close connection to place.
