The new Deloitte offices in Thessaloniki, accommodating around 320 employees, combine functionality and flexibility on the 5th floor of an existing building dating back to 1966. The building’s industrial character is reflected in the new design through high ceilings, exposed mechanical installations, and columns painted green to highlight their geometry. The existing mosaic floor also contributes to the space’s unique aesthetic.
A key feature of the design is the open-plan office layout, which promotes hybridity with custom-made agile desks that can be configured in various ways to support both individual work and team collaboration. The space fosters a sense of community and transparency, with glass partitions defining closed offices and meeting rooms. These partitions also enhance acoustic comfort, while the reception area remains visible from almost all parts of the interior.
Acoustic comfort and overall employee well-being were key considerations within the industrial framework. Sound-absorbing ceiling elements, cozy rugs, and green accents, such as indoor plants, help balance the harshness of the industrial design. These elements create a comfortable environment that mitigates the potential drawbacks of large, open spaces, ensuring employees remain focused and productive throughout the day.
Custom-made furniture incorporates a mix of materials, including wood and green metal, reflecting Deloitte’s identity and contributing to a homier atmosphere.
