In the heart of Athens, a challenge emerged: the future of work needed to be redefined. This marked the beginning of The Glade, a vision for a new kind of workplace where nature, architecture, and human experience are seamlessly intertwined.

The project was developed in collaboration with UNS, who were invited to participate in the design challenge. Together, the teams won the architectural competition by Prodea for a new office campus in Marousi. Their shared ambition was to create a biophilic and human-centric environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and well-being.

At the center of the campus, nature takes the lead. An Urban Forest surrounds the buildings, offering protection from noise and pollution while forming a green sanctuary for those who work there. This living landscape embraces the architecture, transforming the site into a vibrant destination for interaction, movement, and daily life.

The spatial concept evokes the atmosphere of a forest clearing. Open courtyards and cascading terraces create a sequence of spaces that balance social connectivity with moments of privacy. Each workspace maintains a direct connection to nature, with panoramic views and an environment designed to promote health and vitality.

The campus façade, known as the “Foliage,” functions as a protective skin. It filters natural light, mitigates heat and urban noise, and frames distant mountain views, shielding the interior from distractions while maintaining openness to the surrounding landscape.

The Glade is more than an office development. It is conceived as a sanctuary for creativity, where sustainability and design come together to redefine the relationship between work and life, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and a holistic sense of well-being.
